Swing School: pick your fault, get a four-week plan

These are the same 12 faults RangeBuddy checks in your swing video. Choose the one that sounds like your miss and you get a week-by-week schedule plus the range drills that go with it — ready to play with voice cues in your headphones. 🏌️

    Lateral hip sway

    On video

The hips slide away from the target in the backswing instead of turning.

    Ball flight

Thin and heavy strikes mixed together, plus a push to the right.

    Usual cause

Turning is replaced by sliding, usually from a passive trail hip and soft trail leg.

    Four-week schedule

    Week 1

    3 x 25 min

Feel the trail hip load without sliding

Goal: 10 rehearsals with no sway, half swings only

    Week 2

    3 x 30 min

Half swings with a physical barrier

Goal: 8 of 10 balls struck with the barrier untouched

    Week 3

    3 x 35 min

Full swings, wedge to 7 iron

Goal: Contact centred on 7 of 10 shots

    Week 4

    2 x 40 min

    Transfer: random clubs, full routine

Goal: Same feel holds with driver in play

    Range drills

    1. Bag barrier

Place your golf bag just outside your trail hip. Make 10 slow backswings without touching it.

Key thought: Turn into the hip, never away from the target.

    3 min

    2. Half swings, 9 iron

10 half swings with the barrier in place. Stop at hip height in the backswing.

    9 iron
    10 balls

    3. Feet-together turns

Feet together, 8 three-quarter swings. Sway becomes impossible, rotation becomes obvious.

    8 iron
    8 balls

    4. Full swings with pressure

10 full shots, alternating targets. Call your strike before you look up.

    7 iron
    10 balls
